Make Knitted Vase out of scraps of Yarn and an old Plastic Bottle!

An easy way to make an unusual Knitted Vase

This is a Great Idea for making a highly unusual knitted vase simply out of a little wool and an empty plastic drinks bottle. The vase can be knitted as fancy or as plain as you require. It is a great way to try a complex knitting pattern before commiting to a larger project or a scarf pattern would be great inspiration.
Introduction

This Great Idea uses a piece of knitting and a cut down plastic bottle to make a vase. The plastic bottle provides the insert making this waterproof. Any size bottle can be used for different effects - here a 2ltr bottle was used.

Decide the size vase you require and start knitting. The knitting can be plain or patterned. Either make up a pattern using a simple cable and lace edging - or, if you require inspiration then why not use a scarf pattern!

Knit until the piece of knitting stretches around the bottle. It should be a snug fit so the knitting stretches over the bottle and doesn't require fixing in place. Cast off and sew the two edges together

Cut the bottle to size so the top of the bottle is about 1cm under the top edge of the knitting.

Put the bottle into the knitted cover and voila! A Knitted Vase.

Conclusion
This is a Great Idea for using up odds and ends of wool and makes a great present.
