Crocheted Wooden Bead Bracelet

Crochet a colourful, bright and cheerful bracelet. This is made using wooden beads which are light and therefore the bracelet is not too heavy to wear.

Use brightly coloured wooden beads to crochet a striking bracelet or necklace. The wooden beads are light, meaning that a large number of them can be used without pulling the finished work out of place, or making it heavy to wear.

The bracelet is fastened by knotting the lengths of cord. This bracelet can also be worn as a necklace. Simply extend the length of chain and it will make a lovely flamboyant collar.

The bracelet is made by crocheting beads into the stitches in clusters of 3. This gives the beaded looped effect. This is achieved simply by dropping 3 beads into place in between each stitch.

Materials

100 (or the number necessary to achieve the finished length) wooden beads, mix of sizes and colours. The beads in the bracelet are between 1 and 1.5 cms in length.

Crochet cotton (no 5)

2mm crochet hook

Instructions

  1. Before starting, thread 96 beads onto the cotton.
  2. Crochet chain of 15 cms (this forms the tie at one end of the bracelet, to make a necklace extend this chain as required) – then * drop 3 beads into place, make 2 chain * and repeat from * to * 15 times.
  3. Turn work, make 2 turning chain and work one row of Double Crochet (Single Crochet US) ending at the start of the beaded crochet on the previous row.
